Who cares if it’s “”just a phase.”” There are so many genders to explore and so many different ways to express yourself to the world and so many different identities and teenagers should be allowed to figure themselves out and give themselves labels that may not end up sticking. They’re young and still don’t know themselves completely and they have every right to explore their gender and figure out what makes them comfortable and secure and happy with themselves.
